I just updated from 7.2 to 8.0 RC1, rebuilt all installed ports(including KDE 4.3). Everything works except the mouse. KDE's system settings tell me that "Shared object libusb-0.1.so.8 not found". Then I checked /usr/ports/UPDATING and followed 20090309, but pkg_info output is "no match" that I understand as "no libusb-* in /db/pkg.
So I don't know how to get the mouse working (and don't know how to solve the libusb problem).

Yesterday, I upgraded, and the mouse did not work (no KDE tho)
_7 to _8;
I rebuilt graphics/dri and graphics/libGL (both at once)
then nvidia-driver
PRESTO! the mouse worked again.
Even if you use non-nvidia, you might want to rebuild those two.
(Chances it might break other parts of KDE tho...)

OTOH, the mouse, that that rebuild "fixed", was not usb, and
there is a new usb stack in _8 vs _7...

I rebuilt the ports, but doesn't work.
Now I'm rebuilding all the ports by portupgrade -af
