I have installed gnome2-lite and sound problem. I can to listen music but not can to control sound volume and there is no sound tray icon. When go to System - Preferences - Sound get the message "Waiting for system sound to respond" and nothing happening. How to set this ?

I think that is the same or similar problem on FreeBSD 7.2. Everything in sound system configure is okay. Only message that never close.

It is the same. You need to update a few ports.

All ports are updated but nothing helps. It seems that we have to wait to fix the problem.

Do you have gstreamer or xine install.
