View Full Version : gnome does not open (PCBSD)

hi everyone
im using PC-BSD and i have installed gnome2 using

pkg_add -r gnome2


it takes more than 12 hours downloading and installing the packages when i choose gnome from kdm it didnot start and a small pop message appears says


the configuration default for gnome power manager hav not been inslled correctly please contact your system administrator


so how can fix that

Install sysutils/gnome-power-manager port:
portsnap fetch update
cd /usr/ports/sysutils/gnome-power-manager
make install clean

Hi "lio_013"

I suggest you install the ports, then recompile gnome2.
It's probably a dependency problem.

i got an error while making the file

I can't find the format file `etex.fmt'!

Stop in /usr/ports/print/jadetex.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/textproc/docbook-utils.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/sysutils/gnome-power-manager.

If you want advice, I advise you to install directly freebsd and then install gnome.

The problem is that pcbsd is oriented for kde not gnome!

cause i post in the two forums at the same time and i got nothing overthere till now

now is there any way to completely remove this corrupted installation of gnome with all its programms?????????
