[kde3][jap] trouble with kanji in all aps

Hello forums!
I've got a trouble with displaying kanji in any KDE3 applications(with any font, including fixed and other full-unicode fonts):

(all the kanji symbols are displayed like a box)
Can anyone provide me any ideas of solving that?

As I recall, there was no such problem in Linux.

Over here kde4 does work with kantonese but qt4 without kde keeps ignoring my settings. I guess it's the same at you, maybe qtconfig can help?

Do you mean fonts in qtconfig window? Nothing changes with their change (e.g. fixed works with kanji in xterm, but NOT in qtconfig window font browser)
