There's an important update to sysutils/xfce4-utils that you don't have yet. Update that, then make sure you're starting xfce with /usr/local/bin/startxfce4.

Hi,

many thanks indeed and I am going to shut my startx session down and restart as your suggestion. See you later then.

Hi,

to wblock,
startxfce4 does not like setting DISPLAY to any value. Furthermore, updaring xfce4-utils does not bring menu back. Many thanks for your time any way.

I just saw this on another system. There are a couple of similar problems, and this is the second one. Seems to be due to the order of installation when switching from xfce 4.6 to 4.8. Anyway, it should be fixable by deinstalling and installing sysutils/garcon.

The credit really goes to Zhihao Yuan and Martin Wilke for finding and fixing these problems, and Oliver Lehmann for maintaining the port.
