Try comparing the contents of the pkg-info files in x11-wm/fvwm, fvwm2 & fvwm-crystal

Look at the pkg-descr files and the PORTVERSION in the Makefiles. x11-wm/fvwm is 1.24r, x11-wm/fvwm2 is 2.4.20, and x11-wm/fvwm-crystal... well, there's some Russian and a new web page that just says "under construction".

I found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FVWM-Crystal
Well I think that is was that I was looking for. I tried in the past fvwm but never made it with text config. So I will give a try with this :)

Fvwm-Crystal brings all the bells and whistles (transparency, sophisticated pipe menus, etc.,) and several themes, yet striving to be minimal on resources and following the fvwm config norm. I used it briefly a few years ago. Consider it as fvwm for the uninitiated users who don't want to mess around with fvwm configurations.
fvwm2 is the stable release. If you want more features, build the fvwm-devel port. It has a lot of features. Pixmap theming, xft support and so on.

And it's stable as hell :)
