Speaking of KDE SC 4, no. You need to install x11/kdebase4-workspace to have KDM and KWin, x11/kdebase4 for basic applications and x11/kdebase4-runtime for other generic stuff. Be aware that I'm going to commit 4.7.2 this weekend. After that, the ports will be x11/kde4-workspace, x11/kde4-baseapps and x11/kde4-runtime.
Anyway, you're suggested to install x11/kde4 and unselect all the modules you don't want (you might want x11-themes/kdeartwork4 and x11-themes/kde4-wallpapers for eye-candyness). If you unselect everything, you will install exactly the three ports listed above. But again, please wait after 4.7.2 is committed.
