Hi guys. I have just updated my KDE 4.3.5 to 4.4.3. Now all my global shortcuts (Alt+Tab, Alt+F2, etc...) are not working. When I go to "System settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Global Keyboard Shortcuts" I get the following error message:

Failed to contact the KDE global shortcuts daemon
Message: Could not get owner of name 'org.kde.kglobalaccel': no such name
Error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NameHasNoOwner

As far as i know dbus uses /var for its files. I have checked that and there are needed permissions on /var.

Did anyone have such issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi
seems that the procedure suggested doesn't reinstall kdebase4-runtime, where kglobalaccel is.

Try to install it manually.

Bye

(Writing form firefox that was launched via Alt+F2 :) ) Thanks, you were right, kdebase-runtime was not installed during kde upgrade. I installed it manually and now everything is great. Thanks again for help.
