Something is messing up file descriptors. Obviously the output file stream ends on up fd 2, which is also used for stderr.
Potentially perl's system() closed fd2 on its fork?
Run truss -f around the perl script.
I have configured a jail, and it uses pulseaudio for sound. I have also installed XRDP and the xrdp plugin for pulseaudio, and the sound streams just fine with that setup.
I'm assuming there have been some unexpected delays with 14.1? The release schedule stops on April 8th.
Any ideas what the issue is?

I use old-but-still-good m0n0wall. It's at the center of my home network. Its main task is to separate machines with my valuable data from hackers. But it also divides my network into two subnets. I'm so happy with it that I don't even think...
Not even that, what hits my knee is about false propaganda, because feels like "it's fine as long it's about FreeBSD". It does have his pitfalls, knowing the weakness of something you're about to use is better for your workflow (everything have...
fc [-e editor] [first [last]]
fc -l [-nr] [first [last]]
fc -s [old=new] [first]
The fc built-in command lists, or edits and re-executes, com-
mands previously entered to an interactive shell...
You are right, I didn't pay enough attention.
The message tells you that you forgot to pass an argument, fc -l should give you something.
Search for fc in the man sh for more example (fc -l, fc -e, fc -s, etc ...).
Your statement is perfectly correct, but the issue here I am trying to communicate is that GRUB doesn't boot from Debian or any other OS.
Debian (or any other Linux distribution, or Operating system) has no participation in booting the GRUB...
I quote you (highlighted) where you specifically state that it is "not ideal since the host system is slow".
So at this point, I suspect you are trolling. Or, your concept of "working perfectly" is considerably incorrect.
Nah, you are being...
I am connecting to a wireguard server - say 1.2.3.4
When wg0 is down, internet should be blocked and it does get blocked as required. Is it possible to have a pf.conf which at the same time regardless of the state of wg0 down/up allow myself to...
Dear kpedersen. The phrase "kwrite is a bad choice" does openly challenge one's preferences. Your point is moot regarding me not having a "good choice" since asking for specific file editor or file manager was not even the original ask. The need...
Sounds like you don't have one though right? Thus this thread?
Those recommendations weren't to "undermine your honour". Just that X11 forwarding as a protocol needs lighter toolkits to work effectively. You have to try it before you even know...
A simple workaround is to do as root: sysctl hw.usb.usbhid.enable=0 before using your yubikey.
As long as your keyboard does not disconnect, multimedia key should still work.
So technically you could do an attach rule, that do the following:
If...
For some reason my function keys have stopped working.
Can anyone suggest how to diagnose the problem?
This is on a ThinkPad X1 Carbon running FreeBSD 13. Everything works normally on bootup but for some reason I can no longer use function keys...
history does work under sh, but it is a builtin function. Unfortunately history doesn't give me anything in the way of options for fc. Running fc on it's own simply shows:
Up until FreeBSD 13.x wg-quick was working as expected. On FBSD 14, it has stopped. My configs on both server side and client side remain the same. Same wireguard client config from a Windows machine wireguard client on the same wifi, works fine...
Which version of poudriere?
What's the exact version of FreeBSD for the host?
Which version of FreeBSD in the jail?
How does your log compare with what's already shown in fallout?
Tracked this down to ImageMagick7 compiled with OpenMP support on FreeBSD 13.3 or 14.0. Doesnt matter if I compile it against the default llvm17 in 13.3, or llvm19 (devel) pkg or llvm14 on FreeBSD 13.3. If I compile WITHOUT OpenMP in...
PHP 7.4 was dropped here in v26 so I assume you are now stuck at Nextcloud v25?
The link says that 8.1 and 8.2 are supported, so you should be able to install 8.1 and then do the Nextcloud v26 update. The app development documentation says 8.0...
Looks like PHP 8.2 is supported in 26:

Looking to do very much the same thing, but I'm starting at version 18 :'‑(

After going back and forth on using my frame.work as a daily driver, I've recently managed to get 8:50 hours of battery life with 80% charge.
Since this felt like quite the accomplishment, I wanted to share how I managed to pull this off: after...
In a virtual console, not Xorg.
That's not how fontpath.d works, see FONTPATH.D in Xserver manual.
A xorg FontPath configuration file as the above created belongs under /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d.
But for games/angband a font path doesn't...
I have found that pipewire works well for me on FreeBSD when it comes to switching between a laptop's speakers or the TV if connected with an HDMI cable. with various Linuxes (Linii?) it's been less consistent. Fedora, if I remember correctly...
Many thanks for this goldmine, which I don't think I've come across before.
Unfortunately it doesn't cover history under sh. I still can't find out how to use fc, apart from being able to run 'fc -l'
Please have at look at the history section of https://hyperpolyglot.org/unix-shells. I think it gives a useful overview about the history handling for a few shells.
I beg to differ. In a typical Debian install, /dev/sda1 is created and fat(fat32) partitioned by Debian. Debian creates and hosts the /etc/fstab entry and the supporting configuration files in /etc/grub.d/. I've never tried it, but...

FreeBSD in Greece !
One of the reasons i stopped a little FreeBSD project i had for some (~3-4?) months (cultbsd) was that pkg downloading speed is painfully slow.

As far as I can tell, the greatest difficulty with UNIX®-like FreeBSD is ending – at least, for applications that use the port of Poettering PulseAudio.
The situation with OSS is more complicated, for me.
A few weeks ago I installed a...
blackhole sorry, I overreacted in this topic because the negativity in other topics was very memorable. Things such as <https://forums.freebsd.org/posts/641234> (where I subsequently withheld a link) and <https://forums.freebsd.org/posts/633617>...
thanks for the pointers, I’ll take a deep look into that.
A for the lying, how can I get real info? Is smartctl reliable?
