syslog-ng send allert email

If I configure syslog-ng to send me alerts whether I use an smtp() destination or script with mail, if a device generates infinite identical alerts will I receive infinite emails? Via syslog-ng it is not possible to insert an identical alert sending timer if it does not turn off every hour
